Requirements
- Current student of Modesto Junior College;
- Grade point average of 2.5 or better;
- Special consideration will be made for those with special established needs and disabilities;
- Open to Associate and Certificate students in the Human Services and/or Chemical Dependency Counseling program.
Please provide a copy of official transcript that documents Human Services or Chemical Dependency Counseling program;
- Applicant must have completed at least 40 hours of community service/volunteer work;
- Applicant must write a 500 word essay relating to his/her personal commitment to Human Service Education.
This essay must be typed in MLA format;
- Applicants will be reviewed and rated by the Human Services Advisory Board Scholarship Committee. The scholarship
will be granted to the applicant who receives the highest collective vote;
- Completed applications must be submitted no later thanFebruary 1 of each year beginning in 2007. Scholarships
will be awarded at the MJC Human Services Awards Banquet, in the Fall semester (exact date to be announced).
